Austria, or the Republik Österreich, as it is known in German, is in the heart of Europe and borders Germany and the Czech Republic to the north, Slovenia and Italy to the south, Switzerland and Liechtenstein to the west and Slovakia and Hungary to the east.

Even though Austria is relatively small, it has a lot to offer. The Alps are breathtaking and are definitely a "must see" for anybody in the country. After hiking through the mountains, you might like to dip into the cultural highlights the cities have to offer. After all, Austria is renowned for its musical heritage. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Anton Bruckner and Gustav Mahler, to name a few, are Austrian. So, too, are the world famous artists Gustav Klimt and Friedensreich Hundertwasser.
